Obituary of Duck Cooper
Whitwell, Tennessee – Mr. Donnie Edwin “Duck” Cooper, 48, went home to be with his Lord Friday April 29, 2022, at the Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga with his loving family at his bedside.
He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on June 30, 1973. He was Safety Coordinator and Substation Maintenance at Sequatchie Valley Electric Cooperative. He faithfully attended the Whitwell Worship Center where he was very active playing instruments for the Church and working on building improvements and sound sysem. Duck loved to sing, play guitar, banjo, piano and other instruments he had mastered. He enjoyed camping with his family, hunting and traveling. He was the bass singer for the On The Rock Quartet for over 20 years. He was a member of Woodmen of the World.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Doris McBee Burnett and Marie Morrison Henderson.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cristal Pickett Cooper; sons, Wyatt and Noah Cooper; mother, Ann (Joe) Nunley; father, Danny (Donna) Cooper; grandfather, Ralph Burnett; brother, Jamie (Tina) Cooper; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Linda Tate Pickett; step brother, Ryan Nunley; step sisters, Casey Clark, Sonya (Shawn) Hart and Suzie (Ben) Thigpen; sister-in-law, Laronaca (Sam) Morrison; nephews, Tanner (Becca), Austin (Kirsten), Kollyn Cooper and Brandon Michaels; loving aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Visitation Monday May 2, 2022, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM at Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home, Whitwell, Tennessee.
Visitation and Funeral service Tuesday May 3, 2022, at the Whitwell Worship Center, 6757 Hwy 108, Whitwell, Tennessee 37397. 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM with funeral starting at 2:00 PM with Pastor Sherra Turner and Pastor Jim Troyer officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery.
